Anies Welcomes Visit of US Ambassador to Indonesia

Jakarta Governor, Anies Baswedan, officially welcomed the visit of US Ambassador to Indonesia, Joseph Donovon Junior at City Hall.

"We discussed several things related to Jakarta. We convey our priority and discuss many things," he expressed, Tuesday (1/9).

In the meeting, they discussed about handling issues of inequality, employment, education, health, public transport and infrastructure.

In that occasion, the US Ambassador to Indonesia also asked about places of tourism that could be visited. He hoped, Jakarta would continue its development, especially in tourism aspect.

"All this time he has been active in scuba diving in Seribu Islands. So he knows nature tourism in Jakarta," he told.

He said he also conveyed about the enhancement of further cooperation in the field of education. In addition to discussing the potential for cooperation, the US party also reported the renovation of their embassy building would be complete in the forthcoming August.

"We also appreciate him to give space in the sense of opportunity and attention to participate in the care of the Monas environment," he uttered.

US Ambassador to Indonesia, Joseph Donovan Junior explained that his interest in improving education opportunities in American students in Indonesia.

"This is just my introductory visit with the governor and should be seen as a strategic partnership," he stated.
